What is Google Apps?

Google Apps is a suite of web-based messaging and collaboration applications that Google hosts on its own servers. Google provides these applications “as a service,” rather than as software to download and install. To access these applications, you simply use a web browser on a computer that’s connected to the Internet.



To the Users

Please be advised that starting January 8, 2013, DLSU will be permanently transferring to the Google Apps Email. Our old MS Exchange Email will still be accessible until January 31, 2012. However, sending and receiving of emails will already be disabled on the MS Exchange Email accounts starting January 8, 2013.

While the students are using in their Google Apps Email addresses, the DLSU employees will be using in their GoogleApps Email addresses. Employees currently using Google Apps Email with in the address are advised to back up their emails as these accounts will also be disabled by January 31, 2013.

Your existing MS Exchange email address (i.e. shall be retained in the transfer to the Google Apps Email so that your contacts can continue sending emails to that address. Your existing email messages on the MS Exchange email shall be transferred to yourGoogle Apps Email. Your email address will also serve as your login credentials to Google Apps.

Calendar sharing is a great way for you and your co-workers to keep each other informed about your schedules.     • Integrated chat --With the Google Talk instant messaging application, you can communicate instantly with your co-workers right from the email interface. In addition, all your chats are automatically saved in your Email application, so you can always retrieve important information

You can still use your Microsoft Office products as needed, but now you'll have more options for storing and collaborating on your documents
    • Easy-to-build team web sites -- With Google Sites, your team has the ability to quickly publish a robust internal web site on which to gather all sorts of shared information, such as documents, spreadsheets, presentations, files, and videos. You can even embed Google calendars and other gadgets on your site!
    • Powerful video sharing -- Using Google Video for business, you can easily share videos with your team or throughout De La Salle University for a whole new level of communication and collaboration.

  • How do I start using Google Apps?


    • Log in to My.LaSalle – Log in to My.LaSalle with your username and password
    • Change Password – Change your password by clicking on the Change Password link on the left.
    • Log in to Google Apps – Log in to Google Apps by clicking on the Manage Email – Google link on the left.
    • Login information – Your username would be:firstname.lastname and your password would be the new password you have set in My.LaSalle.
