A “No Dial Tone” message appears whenever I try to connect. What do I do?

There are several possible reasons that cause this message to appear. Here are possible solutions you may try:

  • Check if your phone line is connected properly. You might have a loose connection.
  • Your modem might not be installed properly. Reinstall your modem driver.
  • Check your modem if power supply is turned on.
  • Check your serial or USB connection if it is connected to CPU (for external modem only).

I received an Error Message labeled: ERROR 619/369. What is this?

This is a Microsoft Windows related error. You must delete your existing dial-up connection icon and create a new one.

How do I delete my existing dial-up connection?

To delete an existing dial-up connection, follow these steps:

  • In your desktop, right click the My Network Places icon and select Properties.
  • Below the Dial-up section, delete the existing Dial-up connection used.

I am not recognized in the domain/ I cannot login/ I have an Authentication Error. What do I do?

There are several possible reasons that cause this problem to occur. Here are possible solutions you may try:

  • Check if you have the correct dial-up number: 525-55-51 for students, and 522-32-77 for faculty.
  • Check if you typed the correct password. You might be missing a special or numeric character, or your keyboard might be in CAPS lock. Remember that the My.LaSalle portal is CASE SENSITIVE with passwords.
  • You might be affixing @dlsu to your username. Key in only your username and password when you log in.

I am able to log in to My.Lasalle Portal but I cannot access my e-mail. What do I do?

Depending on the case why you cannot log in to your e-mail, here are possible solutions:

  • Your My.LaSalle portal account is still active but your e-mail might have already expired due to 30-days of inactivity. If this is the case, contact the Help Desk for reactivation of your e-mail account.
  • Contact Help Desk and ask the Administrator to check on user settings if Dial-in is enabled.

The dial-up keeps ringing without getting connected. What do I do?

Here are possible options to resolve this problem:

  • Disconnect and try to dial again.
  • Contact Help Desk and inquire if My.LaSalle dial-up is working properly.

My dial-up is already connected, but I still cannot access the Internet. What should I do?

To resolve this problem, fix your connection settings by following these steps:

  • Go to Internet Explorer.
  • On the Tools menu, click on Internet Options. Click on the Connections tab, then click the Dial-up connection settings button.
  • In the Dial-up connection settings window, tick the Use automatic configuration script check box, and type http://wpad.dlsu.edu.ph in the Address box.

If your connection still won’t work properly:

  • Uncheck Use automatic configuration script check box, and tick the Use a proxy server check box instead.
  • In the Address box, key in proxy.dlsu.edu.ph, and 80 in the Port box. Click the Advanced button and add dlsu.edu.ph to the Exceptions.

How do I check if my modem is working properly?

To know if your modem is working properly, follow these steps:

  • In your desktop, right click the My Computer icon and select Properties.
  • In the System Properties window, click on the Hardware tab, then click the Device Manager button.
  • In the Device Manager window, expand the computer properties category by clicking on "+". You’ll know if your modem is working properly if under this category, a Modem subcategory, with modem brand (internal/external), is present.

How do I create a new dial-up connection?

To create a new dial-up connection, follow these steps:

  • In your desktop, right click the My Network Places icon and select Properties.
  • On the Wizard section, double click the New Connection Wizard.
  • In the New Connection Wizard window, click Next.
  • Click on Connect to the Internet, then click Next.
  • Select Set up my connection manually, then click Next.
  • Select Connect using a Dial-up Modem then click Next.
  • On ISP Name, enter your desired connection name. (Example, "DLSU connection") Then click Next.
  • On Phone Number, key-in the necessary dial-up number, then click Next.
  • Click Next again, then click Finish.
