Replacement Unit Requisition Guidelines

  • If the PC Engineer concludes that a unit can no longer be repaired, the user will be informed that the unit is for replacement.
  • The PC Engineer will inform the PC Net Manager that the unit is for replacement.
  • The PC Net Manager will either approve or disapprove the requisition for replacement.
  • If the PC Net Manager approves the request, he will coordinate with the Inventory Management unit.
  • The Inventory Management will check the availability of a replacement unit. If a replacement is available, the Inventory Management will have the unit delivered to the PC Engineer for inspection/testing.
  • If a replacement unit is not available, the Inventory Management will inform the Help Desk, sign the SMR, and give it back to the requesting PC Engineer.
  • If the PC Net Manager on the other hand does not approve the request, he will inform the PC Engineer and the Help Desk that the unit is not included in the inventory of equipments for replacement.
  • Help Desk will advise the user to accomplish a Materials Requisition Form to make a purchase.
